Terms & Conditions of On-line Purchase

Welcome to the Gemiprecious Jewellery Designs on-line service. By placing an order using this service you are accepting these Terms & Conditions. Please read these Terms & Conditions before placing an order.

"We" and "us" means Gemiprecious Jewellery Designs.

"You" means the person placing an order.

"The contract is agreed" - by completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. An acceptance email from us confirms that the contract is formed.

"Working days" means all days other than Saturdays, Sundays and English statutory and public holidays.

We give Free Postage and Packing to all addresses in the UK and post World Wide via Royal Mail Airmail - postage will be added when checking out.  Postage is calculated on the weight of the goods. By using the website to buy goods on-line, you confirm that you are 18 years old or over.

We abide by the The Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) 2000.

By completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. Please note orders will only be despatched once we have authorisation from your payment card issuer. We will not be liable if there is a delay, and we will not accept your order if payment is not authorised.

Certain steps must be followed for a contract to be formed, as described below.

After you have placed your order:

We will send you, as soon as possible, an email to acknowledge your order. It will confirm which goods you have ordered. This email is not an order acceptance from us.

When we despatch your goods, we will send you a confirmation email. This means we formally accept the order, and are obliged to complete the contract.  If payment is not received within 7 days from the order date the goods will be returned to stock.

We do not have to accept your order, and for example, we will not accept your order if:


  • We do not have the goods in stock
  • Your payment is not authorised 
  • There is an error on our website regarding the price or other details of the goods
  • You have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions below
  • We reserve the right to refuse any order.

If you change your mind after placing an order, you can cancel it at any time before we despatch it. Please see the Contact us page for our telephone number and email address. You will need to give us your name and address details, as well as your order number to cancel your order. If cancellation takes place after we despatch the goods the customer will bear the cost of the return.

Cooling off period

When you order from us on-line, you are entitled to a cooling off period after despatch, when you can return your goods without any penalty. Our cooling off period is 7 days according to The Distance Selling Regulations.

This period starts the day the contract is agreed (i.e. you receive an email from us saying we have despatched your order) and ends 7 days after the day following delivery of the goods.

Certain items are excluded from the cooling off period guarantee, unless we are at fault. These are personalised and pierced jewellery items, e.g. earrings.

Pricing and payment

Prices throughout the website are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and payment can only be accepted in Pounds Sterling. Packing and delivery costs are included for orders within the UK.

While we make every effort to ensure that the goods shown on our website are currently available at the price shown, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If goods you have ordered are unavailable, you will be notified as soon as possible.

The price you pay is the price of the goods shown at the time you place your order, even if the price of the goods has since changed.

Postage & Packing

Post and Packing are free to UK addresses.  Goods will be sent using Royal Mail 1st class postage. Goods will be wrapped in tissues and sent in  padded mail bags.  An organza bag will be sent FOC with the order. 

We always obtain Proof of Posting, however, we cannot be held responsible for losses in the postal service.

Please contact us if you wish to have a shipping service other than the free postage and packing offered on this site.  This will incur additional charges that must be paid by the customer requesting the extra service prior to the goods being despatched.

We reserve the right to change or discontinue free delivery at any time.

We will email you as soon as your order has been despatched.

Your order will be despatched, where possible 24 hours after payment has cleared.  If you have ordered on a Friday, weekend day or Bank Holiday, your order will be despatched on the next available working day after payment has cleared.

The responsibility for the goods passes to you once the goods have been received.

If we are unable to deliver the goods to the address given we will hold them for 7 days then refund the value less 20% handling fee. The re-delivery for UK mainland will be charged at £10. No re-delivery will be offered for Europe or Rest of the World.

Refunds (including the return postage) will be offered if goods do not comply with the Sale of Goods Act.

If the goods are returned for any other reason, refunds or exchanges will be made at the discretion of the management and the cost of return postage will not be refunded.  Any request for redress must be accompanied by a valid receipt.

How to return the items:

  • You must email us about your intention to return goods within 3 days of receiving them (the next day after delivery counts as the first day).
  • The item must be in original condition, unworn and in the original organza bag or box.
  • The goods must arrive back to us in appropriate packaging by secure post that requires signature when it arrives back. We cannot accept any responsibility for any goods whilst they are in the postal system; we would advise that you to use a special delivery service for all items.
  • Any costs incurred in returning the item are the responsibility of the customer.

Please note that:

  • For health reasons under no circumstances are we able to accept the return of earrings or any other pierced jewellery in compliance with the current UK Health and Hygiene Regulations

  • We will not accept for refund, or exchange, any product where the notification of intention of return is not within 3 days or where the product has not been returned within 7 days of the initial receipt.

These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions for buying goods on-line from time to time. If this happens, we will notify you by posting the new Terms & Conditions for buying goods on-line on the website. If you do not wish to be governed by the revised Terms & Conditions for buying goods on-line, you must not place any further orders.

Please note that:

If any part of these Terms & Conditions for buying goods online is found to be invalid by law, the rest of them remain valid and enforceable.
